Do you need a render of a pergola before building it?

Direct answer: yes, whenever the person paying cannot picture it. A pergola is bought from a drawing and a price, and the two questions that stall the sale — how much shade it really gives and how it looks against this house — are exactly the ones a plan cannot answer. One view is ₪890, the three-view package with a printable sheet carrying your logo is ₪2,900, and there is a ₪200 pilot so you can test it on one real quote.

The need is not my idea. Israeli pergola makers write it on their own blogs: ask the professional for a drawing or a rendering before you build. What is missing is someone selling that as a service to the installer — which is what this page is.

Ask about the ₪200 pilot

I answer on WhatsApp. No forms and no calls you did not ask for.

Why it matters

Why does a pergola need a render at all?

Because a pergola is sold before it exists, and the buyer is imagining it over their own terrace. A quote plus a technical drawing answers the builder's questions, not the client's. The client is asking three things they will rarely say out loud: how much of my terrace stays in shade, how heavy will it look from the living room, and where exactly do the posts land.

Answer those three with an image and the conversation stops being about price per square metre. That is the whole mechanism, and it is the same one that works for kitchens and wardrobes.

What it shows

What does a pergola render show that a plan does not?

Four things you can point at while the client looks at it:

1

The shade, at a real hour

The structure over the actual terrace with the sun where it will be — not a generic sky.

2

The proportion against the house

Height, span and how it meets the façade. This is where most arguments start, and where they end.

3

The profile you actually sell

Aluminium or wood, the section your supplier stocks, the spacing between slats. It is what makes your quote different from the cheaper one next door.

Timing

If it is for Sukkot, when should I order it?

Before the design can still change — in practice, the three to four weeks before the holiday. Sukkot 2026 falls at the end of September, so the last useful window to adjust a design and still build is early September. After that you are not selling a pergola, you are rushing one.

There is a second reason to be early that has nothing to do with me: a client who approves a drawing in a hurry is the client who changes their mind while you are installing.

What I need

What do I need from you to start?

Three things, and none of them is a special file: the measurements of the structure and the space it goes over, two or three photos of the house or terrace as it is today, and the profile you plan to use — the section drawing from your supplier, or just the model name.

A sketch on paper is fine. Most of my work starts from one.

Prices

How much does a pergola render cost?

₪890 for one view, ₪2,900 for the three-view package with the printable sheet, ₪4,900 for the full kit. The same table as any other piece I draw: what changes the price is the number of views, not the object.

Pilot — ₪200 on account. Test me on one real quote first.

The first image of a quote you have open right now, within 48 hours. One preview view, no corrections and no sales sheet. One pilot per workshop, and it comes off your package in full when you confirm — it is a credit, not a discount.

Prices are in shekels and do not include Israeli VAT. I am not registered for VAT in Israel, so nothing is added to the price on this page — and for the same reason I cannot issue an Israeli tax invoice. You receive an international invoice from my studio in Mexico for your accountant. This service is sold to businesses, not to private consumers.

50% to start, the balance on delivery. The same table every day of the year: no discounts and no seasonal offers. When you confirm, I convert the shekel price at that day's rate and send you the exact amount before you pay, on the payment page of the processor I use. I never ask for card numbers in the chat.

Start with the ₪200 pilot

The honest part

Have you rendered pergolas before?

Not yet, and I would rather say it here than let you find out later. My published work is custom furniture — kitchens, wardrobes and commercial pieces. The images on this page are furniture, not pergolas, because showing you somebody else's pergola as if it were mine is exactly the kind of thing that makes this trade hard to trust.

What transfers is the part that matters: a structure drawn from real measurements, checked by an architect, at a size and a spacing your supplier actually stocks. That is why the ₪200 pilot exists — you risk ₪200, not a package.

And the limit, stated plainly: a render is not an engineering drawing and it is not a permit document. Whatever your municipality or your engineer requires is a separate job, and I do not replace it.

What it does not do

What a render will not fix.

It does not rescue a bad design. If the structure does not work over that terrace, a good image only makes the problem more expensive to discover.

It does not guarantee the sale. It removes one obstacle — the client not being able to picture it — and leaves the price, the schedule and the trust exactly where they were.

One thing worth knowing about follow-up: deals rarely close on the first contact. In my own experience conversions tend to land on the third. The image is what gives you a reason to write again without sounding like you are chasing.

What people ask me

The questions that come up every time.

Can you work from the drawing my aluminium supplier sends me?

Yes. The section drawing, the model name or even a photo of the catalogue page is enough. The point is that the profile in the image is the one you can actually buy.

Can you show two options so the client picks one?

Yes, and it is often the fastest way to close. Two options count as two views inside your package, so the Standard package covers a choice plus one final image.

Do you do the structural calculation?

No. I draw what gets built and I check that it can be built, but the engineering approval and the municipal file are a different profession and I do not pretend otherwise.

How long does it take?

With measurements and photos in hand: the first image within 48 hours and the full package in five days, counted on Israeli working days, Sunday to Thursday.

Do you work with clients outside Tel Aviv?

Yes, anywhere in Israel and anywhere else. The work is done online, which is also why nothing on this page depends on me being in the country that week.

What if I do not like the first image?

That is why it arrives before I finish the rest: that is where you correct material, colour and proportion. Nobody approves blind.

I am an architect, and I have also been on the workshop side: I know what it costs to measure, to quote, and to wait for a client who does not answer. I draw the piece from your real measurements, not from a description, which is why what your client approves is what you deliver.

I work alone and online. That means you talk to me and not to a salesperson: whoever answers the WhatsApp is the person who makes the render.

What do you decide today?

Pick one pergola quote you have open right now. The first image reaches you within 48 hours and the pilot is ₪200 on account, credited in full against your package.
